The artist behind nude paintings of Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen which were hung in two of the country's top public galleries could face criminal charges, it was revealed today. Two oil paintings depicting Brian Cowenthen- Taoiseach prime minister of Irelandin the nudewere briefly displayed in Dublin art galleries in March as an act of guerilla art. Politicians are notoriously prickly when it comes to full disclosure, but Brian Cowen now has more reason than most to fear the naked truth. The year-old school teacher, named as Conor Casby, was tracked down to his south Dublin home after investigators scoured CCTV footage of the prank. While the portraits of the Taoiseach that created such a furore this week may not necessarily fall into this category, they generatedplenty of debate on blogs, in newspapers, on the airwaves and at water coolers across the country.
